fortunately the scenery from interlaken to innertkirchen was excellent since as i mentioned before grimselpass is closed during the winter. i failed to mention earlier that we only found out after attempting to pass through. we ended up retracing nearly 100km and having to go all the way up to luzern to find an open highway leading south. however, this new route permitted us to pass through the 16.9km gotthard tunnel.
