When we visit playgrounds in foreign countries you can almost always identify the piece of equipment that would most likely be outlawed in the U.S. as its the the first thing our kids head towards.

I don't know the name of this thing - but its mounted at a pitch so you can get it spinning by running in place.

With a competent twelve year old alone on the wheel it doesn't look too bad, but when you see it packed with kids of all ages and the little ones spinning off taking everyone in their path along with them, it looks a wee more exciting.
